The Italian soul of our knits: engineered and perfected.
At Wolk, we believe a great merino wool sweater or polo isn't just "made"—it’s engineered. While the world of Merino is vast, the secret to our knitwear lies in the specific Italian yarns we use.
We partner with two of the most prestigious mills in Biella, Italy, to ensure our knitwear feels better, lasts longer, and performs harder than anything else in your wardrobe.
Why Italian yarns matter?
Our Italian partners build on more than 100 years of expertise in the development of high-quality wool yarns. They work exclusively with traceable, mulesing-free wool and are OEKO-TEX certified. This guarantees not only superior quality, but also a responsible production process.
By using these high-quality yarns, we solve the three biggest problems associated with traditional wool:
The benefits
No itch
Only superfine fibers (18.5 microns and below) are used.
No sag
High-quality spinning ensures the garment retains its silhouette.
Pilling resistant
High twist merino yarns and tight knits allow less pilling.
No worries
Our knitwear is odor-resistant and breathable, designed for a life on the move.
The Power of Harmony 4.0
For our knit sweaters, we utilize Harmony 4.0, a legendary yarn from Tollegno 1900. With over 120 years of expertise, Tollegno has perfected a yarn that balances tradition with modern technical performance.
The High-Twist Secret: Harmony 4.0 is a "high-twist" yarn. This means the fibers are spun more tightly than standard wool, creating a compact surface that is naturally resistant to pilling.
Total Easy Care: This yarn undergoes a specialized treatment that allows it to be machine-washed without shrinking or losing its shape.
The yarn keeps it shape, the sweater will not sag after one or 2 days wear. It looks like the yarn has a memory and will always get back in shape.
The "Cashmere of Merino": Cashwool®
For the Jules Polo, we use Cashwool®, created by Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia. Since its creation in the 1970s, Cashwool® has remained the global benchmark for luxury Merino.
Exceptional Softness: Often referred to as "the cashmere of Merino," this yarn is made from only the finest parts of the fleece. It is incredibly smooth and light, making it perfect for wearing directly against the skin.
Breathability for Every Season: Its fine fibers allow for maximum airflow, meaning the Jules Polo keeps you cool during a summer evening and provides lightweight insulation under a blazer in the winter.
