Warm winter merino
Create your own microclimate for maximum comfort. With these merino wool items, you can build natural layers and still enjoy the breathable benefits.
The benefits of merino wool clothes
Merino wool is breathable, keeps you warm when it’s cold, and cools you down when it’s warm. Because odors are absorbed into the fiber’s core, Merino garments can be worn for several days without developing unpleasant smells or needing a wash. Merino wool also dries quickly and offers natural UV protection.
These features make it the perfect travel companion—it adapts to changing conditions and temperature fluctuations with ease.
Warm merino clothing for men, built in layers
Merino keeps you warm without making you overheat. Its crimped fibers trap still air, it keeps insulating when it gets damp, and it releases excess heat and moisture as soon as you warm up. So you can dress for a cold street and still feel comfortable in a heated office. Curious how that works? Read Is merino wool warm enough for winter?
Which piece for which day
- Arne merino flannel shirt: 280 g/m² brushed flannel, woven in Biella, Italy. Warm on its own, without the bulk of a thick cotton flannel.
- Arne merino denim shirt: 235 g/m², 76% merino and 24% lyocell. Our warmest shirt to wear on its own.
- Merino sweaters, from warmest to lightest: the Viggo full-zip (1,240 g in size L) for the coldest days, the Jens (812 g) in a textured rice knit, and the mid-weight Phil (615 g), which layers easily under a coat. All three are knitted from Tollegno's Harmony 4.0 yarn, which is far less prone to pilling.
- Oscar merino T-shirt: the base layer under your shirt or sweater, in ClimaForce merino reinforced with a fine nylon core. You'll find more colors among our merino T-shirts.
- All-season merino socks: warm in boots, comfortable in a heated office, with a reinforced heel and toe. They're everyday socks, not thick ski socks.
