PHIL, THE BETTER MERINO WOOL SWEATER
Maximal comfort with minimal maintenance; that’s the short story of our Phil sweater.
With this development, we wanted to solve several issues that wool sweaters can have: pilling, sagging, and tight washing restrictions.
We sure love our wool sweaters, but not all wool sweaters are equally good! Some start sagging and get out of shape. Others need a daily shave because they pill so quickly. And then there is the stress when it comes to washing. How will they come out of the machine ?!
Here is how we solved all these issues.
Designed in Belgium
We craft comfortable garments designed to last. Leveraging our expertise from the outdoor industry, we start with the very best materials, yarns, and manufacturers. After months of extensive testing and refinement, we guarantee a final product that performs flawlessly and feels great, day after day.
Happy Merino sheep
We only use mulesing-free merino wool. The lovely sheep just deserve to be treated well. The yarn is traceable and OEKO-TEX certified.
Fibre innovation trough 120 years of experience
The secret behind the Phil merino sweater's performance is the merino yarn, expertly spun by the renowned Italian mill, Tollegno 1900. With their century-plus history, they deliver a yarn that represents the ultimate fusion of traditional mastery and modern textile innovation.
Maximal comfort, minimal maintenance
It all begins with 100% extrafine merino wool, ensuring a luxurious feel that is incredibly soft and never itchy. To make care effortless, we remove the wool’s microscopic scales, guaranteeing it won't shrink in your washing machine. Finally, a high-twist spinning technique compacts the yarn, making it more durable and highly resistant to pilling.
A strong knit structure
The half Milano knit creates a robust sweater with excellent dimensional stability. Its dense, double-knit structure holds the threads tightly together, significantly reducing the likelihood of pilling and preventing runs or ladders. Unlike the stiffer full Milano, this knit maintains a desirable elastic feel, ensuring comfort without sacrificing strength.
Knitted in Portugal
Knitting is an art form requiring true skill. That’s why our sweaters are meticulously crafted by a specialist in knitwear, located in the Braga region of Northern Portugal. Simply holding one of our sweaters will allow you to instantly feel the expertise and deep attention to detail woven into every thread.
Merino wool offers superior comfort.
Merino wools natural structure works like high-tech gear: regulating body temperature, wicking away moisture, and resisting odors and wrinkles even after repeated wear. These are just a few of merino’s standout benefits.
