How do I find my size

It is easiest to use our size guides. You'll see them on each shirt page where you select the size. If you are not sure, drop us an email, and we'll be glad to help you: hello@wolk-antwerp.com . Or see if we are live on the chat.

A little note: We use European sizing, which typically runs smaller than UK, US, or German brands.

Is a merino wool shirt itchy?

Unlike traditional wool, which can feel rough, Merino wool is made of ultrafine fibers that bend easily and don’t irritate the skin. That’s why our Merino wool shirts feel soft, breathable, and comfortable. Never itchy.

Where are Wolk shirts made, and where does the wool come from?

Our shirts are proudly made in Portugal, at the heart of Europe’s textile craftsmanship. The fabrics are woven in Italy using the finest techniques, while the Merino wool itself is sourced from certified farms in New Zealand, renowned worldwide for producing the highest quality Merinowool.

Are the fabrics ethically sourced or sustainable?

Yes, our Merino wool is certified by ZQ or RWS, ensuring it’s traceable, ethically sourced, and sustainably produced. Sheep are treated with care, the land is protected, and farmers receive fair wages. It’s quality you can feel and a commitment you can wear with total confidence.

Are Wolk merino shirts easy to care for? Easy to wash?

Our Merino shirts are made with Total Easy Care Merino wool, which means they’re machine washable and low-maintenance. Simply wash on a delicate cycle at 30°C with a wool detergent, use a wash bag, and hang to dry. No dry cleaning required—and far less ironing than cotton.

Why are Merino wool shirts more expensive than cotton shirts?

Merino wool is a rare and premium fiber, sourced from certified farms with strict standards for quality, animal welfare, and sustainability. Unlike cotton, it requires skilled weaving and tailoring to bring out its natural softness, breathability, odor resistance, and wrinkle resistance. This craftsmanship and quality make Merino wool shirts more expensive—but also longer lasting and far more comfortable.

Are Wolk merino shirts made from 100% merino wool?

Most of our shirts are made from 100% Merino wool. The white Oliver shirt is blended with Tencel. This blend offers similar performance to pure Merino, with slightly less wrinkle resistance. Even so, they remain far more crease-resistant than cotton or linen shirts.

Is a merino shirt a good investment compared to other premium shirts?

A Merino wool shirt is more than just clothing. It’s an investment in comfort, performance, and timeless style. Unlike cotton or linen, Merino wool offers next-level benefits: it regulates body temperature, resists wrinkles, stays fresh for days without washing, and feels luxuriously soft against the skin. Add to that its natural odor resistance and sustainability credentials, and you have a shirt designed to keep you looking sharp and feeling comfortable in every season, for years to come.

Does the color fade on these merino shirts?

Merino wool is much more colorfast than cotton. Its fine fibers absorb dye more deeply and evenly, ensuring that colors remain vibrant, rich, and fade-resistant—even after repeated washing. Cotton, on the other hand, often loses brightness over time, especially with frequent washing or exposure to sunlight. Choosing Merino wool shirts means your garments will stay fresh and colorful far longer than cotton alternatives.

Do Merino Wool Shirts Shrink After Washing?

Like most dress shirts, Merino wool shirts may shrink slightly (around 1–3%) after the first wash. We recommend choosing a size that isn’t overly tight to accommodate this natural adjustment.

How Many Times Can You Wear a Merino Wool Shirt Before Washing?

One of the biggest advantages of Merino wool is its natural odor resistance. Merino fibers trap odor molecules at their core, releasing them only when washed. This means you can comfortably wear a Merino wool shirt 3–8 times before needing to wash it, depending on activity level and perspiration.

For light-colored Merino wool shirts (such as white or light blue), areas like the collar and cuffs may show natural body oil stains more quickly. In those cases, we recommend washing more often than darker-colored shirts to maintain a crisp, clean look.
