Sustainabilty of merino wool

Merino Wool, the natural choice.

Sustainable and ethical.

We only use certified wool to ensure our sheep are treated with kindness, our planet is protected, and the farmers who make it all possible are treated fairly.

ZQ certified merino wool

We use ZQ-certified wool from New Zealand to ensure our shirts are as ethical as they are comfortable.

This partnership guarantees a transparent, traceable supply chain that forbids mulesing, protects local ecosystems, and supports fair trade for farmers.

By choosing ZQ, we’re investing in a more sustainable future for wool—from the health of the soil to the welfare of the sheep.

Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

Our T-shirts and sweaters are made with responsible wool.

The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) is an independent, voluntary standard. On farms, the certification ensures that sheep and the farmers are treated with respect and provides best practices in managing and protecting the land. In addition, through the processing stages, certification ensures that wool from certified farms is correctly identified and tracked.

ZQ merino and RWS respect the Five freedoms of animal welfare.

Free from hunger and thirst

by providing clean water, adequate nutrition and grazing time.

Free to live naturally

by allowing the sheep
to roam freely in the open pastures of New Zealand and Australia and develop a normal pattern of behavior.

Free from discomfort

by providing access to shade and shelter, available at all times.

Free from distress

by providing a safe, nourishing environment and avoiding stress and pain. Therefore, mulesing - a painful skin removal from the sheep's rear, used to prevent flystrike disease – is NOT permitted on our farms.

 Free from disease

by providing proper treatment and medicine. Our wool growers come from generations of sheep farming families and have developed a broad knowledge about sheep herding.

Wear more, wash less.

Did you know that 2/3 of the environmental impact of apparel occurs during consumer use?

Washing your clothes after each use is often more about habit than hygiene, and quite frankly, it's not always necessary. Our clothes just need to be aired out properly to be suitable for another wear. The antibacterial properties of merino wool contribute to this benefit.

By washing less, you will save water, energy, time, and money. And it improves the lifespan of your clothes. So, it is a win-win for you, your clothes, and the environment.
